Boy Next Door in a Live-Action Adaptation of a Shoujo Manga
My new haircut and glasses in all their glory.
My stylist, Jeannie of Edge Salon in Berkeley, is a wizard. I like to walk in with five or six picture references of different styles I like and let her decide how to put them together into a look that suits me. She knows I like to look a little edgy and androgynous and translates that to something choppy and asymmetrical.
I am actually a total novice when it comes to styling hair, though. Beyond straightening it and fluffing it up a bit with hairspray, I don’t know what to do with it. I feel like this haircut is ideal for teasing into soft spikes or defining with wax, but I have yet to have much success with either.
It’s all a process of learning!
The outfit’s a work outfit: practical for sitting on the floor and climbing ladders. I switched out the silver chain on my talon necklace for a black one so it would have greater contrast against my light skin.
